Check your available space

Soundbar dimensions from the current US product page. Uses the manufacturer’s stated millimeter values. Excludes packaging, optional mount, connected cables, and installation clearances. Older launch material lists different rounded dimensions, so confirm the specification for your unit before a tight fit.

Before you decide

This checks body dimensions only. TV feet, cables and plugs, ventilation, upward-firing speakers, required acoustic clearance and remote-sensor access need separate checks in your model’s manual. The TV outline is a calculated 16:9 screen, without its frame or feet. A positive gap is not an installation or sound-quality recommendation.

Measurement notes for these models

Sonos Ray

Soundbar dimensions from the current US product page. Uses the manufacturer’s stated millimeter values. Excludes packaging, optional mount, connected cables, and installation clearances. Older launch material lists different rounded dimensions, so confirm the specification for your unit before a tight fit.

Yamaha SR-C20A

Dimensions for installation in front of a TV. The manufacturer separately lists 600 × 64 × 102 mm when wall-mounted with spacers. The recorded values exclude those spacers, packaging, connected cables, and installation clearances.

Sonos Beam (Gen 2)

Soundbar dimensions from the current US product page, which identifies the product as Beam (Gen 2). Uses the stated millimeter values. Excludes packaging, optional mount, connected cables, and installation clearances.

Sony HT-S2000

Approximate soundbar width, height, and depth. Sony explicitly excludes projecting portions from these dimensions. Not packaged dimensions or optional external speaker dimensions. Connected cables and installation clearances require additional space.

Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 (HT-A8000)

Manufacturer’s main-unit body-only dimensions in millimeters. Not carton dimensions or optional subwoofer/rear-speaker dimensions. Additional feet, mounting hardware, connected cables, and installation clearances are not represented by this body-only rectangle.

Sonos Arc Ultra

Soundbar dimensions from the current US product page. Uses the manufacturer’s stated millimeter values, including 110.6 mm depth. Excludes packaging, optional mount, connected cables, and installation clearances.

Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 (HT-A9000)

Manufacturer’s main-unit body-only dimensions in millimeters. Not carton dimensions or optional subwoofer/rear-speaker dimensions. Additional feet, mounting hardware, connected cables, and installation clearances are not represented by this body-only rectangle.

Three dimensions.
Three different checks.

A soundbar does not have one standard size for a particular TV diagonal. Its body width tells you how it sits beneath the picture. Height affects the gap below the screen. Depth tells you how much of the cabinet it occupies.

The screen in the planner uses calculated 16:9 geometry. The soundbar uses manufacturer dimensions or the measurements you enter. The screen outline does not include your TV’s frame, feet or pedestal.

Width: check the usable surface.

Measure the part of the cabinet that can actually support the soundbar. Decorative edges and a TV stand can reduce the available space. If the bar must sit between TV legs, measure the opening at the height and depth where the bar will sit. A cabinet-wide check alone does not test that opening.

Height: leave the picture and controls clear.

Measure vertically from the supporting surface to the bottom of the TV body. A bar can fit below the picture yet still obstruct a sensor, button or stand. Check those features on your exact TV. The physical gap left above the bar is separate from any space its placement guide requires.

Depth: include what goes behind it.

Body depth does not include every plug, cable bend or wall bracket. Record how far the usable surface extends before the TV base or a wall gets in the way. If you plan to mount the bar, use the mounting drawing rather than the tabletop footprint.

Physical fit is the first check.

The planner checks rectangular dimensions. Speaker placement, clearances, ports and mount compatibility still depend on your model. Read its installation guide before choosing a recessed shelf or drilling mounting holes.

Before you choose a soundbar

Should the soundbar be as wide as the TV?

That is a visual preference, not a dimensional rule. Compare the body width with the TV screen width, then check the cabinet and stand. Width alone does not establish sound quality, connectivity or compatibility.

Does a positive result mean the installation is ready?

No. Positive spare width, height and depth only describe the values entered. The tool cannot see TV feet, cables, projecting parts or the manufacturer’s acoustic and ventilation requirements. An exact dimensional match leaves no allowance.

Are the subwoofer and rear speakers included?

No. The chart records the soundbar main unit. A separate subwoofer, rear speakers and their connections need their own measurements. You can plan their measured footprints in the room planner.

Why can two official measurements differ?

A page may use a rounded conversion, include spacers or specify a particular mounting orientation. Model revisions and projecting parts can also change what a drawing covers. We retain the source’s measurement context in the notes rather than treating every figure as the same kind of measurement.
